Building from the Ground Up
From the football field to the construction site, Cedric leads from the front.
A lifetime of service, from the NFL to the classroom.
Born and raised in Compton, California, Cedric White has lived a life defined by service, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
From Compton to the NFL
Cedric graduated from Dorsey High School as California's top defensive lineman, earning a football scholarship to the University of Washington. After transferring to North Carolina A&T, he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams and later played for the Miami Dolphins. But football was just the beginning of his journey.
A Career in Education & Public Service
After the NFL, Cedric returned to California with a mission: to give back to the community that raised him. He became a teacher with LAUSD, then a probation officer for LA County, working in probation camps and juvenile halls. For over 25 years, he dedicated himself to youth and adult rehabilitation — mentoring, teaching, and creating pathways to better lives.
Building from the Ground Up
Cedric's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found White's Transport in 2006 and later White's Concrete Construction in 2011, where he serves as CEO. His company handles residential and commercial concrete, structural excavation, and tilt-up construction — putting people to work and building our community's infrastructure.
The AV Community Uplift Foundation
In 2015, Cedric founded the AV Community Uplift Foundation (AVCUF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving at-risk youth in Lancaster and the Antelope Valley. Through mentoring, sports programs (basketball, flag football), cultural enrichment, Saturday School, and shoe giveaways, AVCUF works to lower negative law enforcement contact and save lives. His daughters Kemorra (UCLA graduate) and Iyanna (medical student) co-run the foundation alongside him.
Every contribution builds a better Lancaster.
